 MEMORY , LEARNING & IMPROVING CONCENTRATION💓

Memory is our ability to encode, store , retain and subsequently recall information in brain

Memory is the sum total of what we remember, and gives us the capability to learn and adapt. It is the ability to remember past experiences, and the power or process of recalling to mind previously learned facts, experiences, impressions, skills and habit

5.1 UNDERSTANDING MEMORY PROCESS💦

5.2 MEMORY STRATEGIES 💦

1) Massed practice vs spared practice. 💜

Massed Practice refers to conditions in which individuals practice a task continuously without rest. Usually, this is refer to last minute revision. Spaced Practice refers to conditions in which individuals are given rest intervals within the practice    sessions like 15 minutes break. While information repeated in a distributed fashion or spaced over time learned more slowly, it is retained for much longer. Spaced practice is more effective than massed practice.

2) Use acronym or mnemonic 💜

the difference between these things :

The best way to learn new ideas is to approach them with an interest. It is best to learn and understand ideas and concepts rather than just memorize facts through repetition. You will be more likely to remember something if it is important to you or if it interests you.

5.3 UNDERSTANDING CONCENTRATION💦

In oxford dictionary, concentration means the ability to direct all your effort and attention on one thing, without thinking of other things.

5.3.1 Strategies for improving concentration 💜

  • Make sure you're comfortable – Start by ensuring that your chair and desk are at the right height for you to work comfortably. If your chair is too high or your desk is too low, you'll be uncomfortable, and you'll be tempted to use this as an excuse to get up and walk away. It also affects your body.
  • Shut out distraction as much as possible – Listening to music can help, especially if it's instrumental music. Not the metal music. Some people even use "white noise" apps – these produce a steady, non-distracting sound like ocean waves or falling rain. This steady background noise can drown out other noise, helping you focus better and ignore distractions. Besides, it's so calming.
  • Focus on one task at a time – It can be much harder to focus if you take minibreaks (15–30 seconds) to answer emails, send text messages, or take quick phone calls. Some researchers believe that it can take up to 15 minutes for us to regain complete focus after a distraction.

  • 5.4 READING / STUDY SYSTEM (SQ3R) 💦

Before you read, make a survey 👀
    • the title , heading , subheading
    • summary
Make a question while you are surveying 👀
    • turn the title , heading , subheading into questions
    • Ask yourself, : "What do I already know about this subject?"
    • Stop or reread parts which are not clear
    • Read only a section at a time and recite after each section

    Recite after you've read a section:👀

    • Orally ask yourself questions about what you have just read, or summarize it in your own words.
    • Take notes from the text but write the information in your own words. Use mind map could helps you.

    Review: an ongoing process👀
    • Day one
    • Day two
    • Day three and so on
    • Weekend

    *ACTIVITY* 💚

if you are reading words it's mean you're using the left brain , but if you telling its colour it's mean you're using the right brain. If you confused, you are using both side of brain. Goodluck!
